The Osyka Veterans Park was dedicated on Armed Forces Day 5/21/2005 to honor and recognize military personnel who have honorably served our nation in military service, especially those from Osyka and surrounding areas. Osyka claims the distinction of having the most commissioned officers per capita than any other municipality in the United States during World War II. Osyka's rich military history is also highlighted in the museum which recognizes the contributions of its citizens who sacrificed and fought with valor and courage for the freedom of this country. The museum, housed in the original town hall and jail, also highlights the history of the town of Osyka.
